Video Tape Transfer
We copy and transfer standard VHS as well as popular and specialist video tape formats from the 1970s onwards.
Our transfer work is completed in-house at our Highgate, London studio. You are welcome to visit us, or send your tapes securely by post.

Timebase Correction
Often, making a straight copy of an old video is not enough. Analogue tape playback has a reputation for being unstable causing the video to 'wobble'.
Playback is electronically stabilised before the picture is processed. Timebase correction helps us produce a stable, standards-compliant digital transfer of your recordings.
Video AVI Files
Choose an AVI working file when your transferred video will be edited rather than simply watched.
AVI gives Windows and Mac editing applications a higher-quality source for cutting, enhancement and final export. A compact MP4 copy can still be created afterwards for everyday viewing.
Bring an external hard drive or high-capacity memory card for delivery, or ask us to recommend suitable storage.

About our digital files
For ordinary viewing we supply compact MP4 files. Customers who intend to cut, grade or enhance the transfer can request a higher-quality AVI editing version.
Files are normally named using the labels on your source tapes unless you give us different instructions.
We normally retain a working copy for 30 days, allowing us to provide a replacement if a delivery is lost or a supplied file proves faulty.
Post and Packing
Smaller orders are returned using a tracked postal service, while larger orders are sent by courier.
Payment can be made by card or through the payment options confirmed with your order.
Video Transfer Prices
Video transfer to MP4 and AVI digital files starts at just £25 per tape for a single tape with discounts given for quantities.
The standard MP4 option is convenient for playback and sharing; select AVI if you need a larger working file for a computer-editing project.
